As part of the Urban Vision exhibition, we present the latest work by KOWALSKI:
KOWALSKI – “GreenWave” (2024)
Acrylic on cloth, 146 × 128 cm, unique
‘GreenWave’, inspired by “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” – the famous woodcut by Hokusai (ca. 1862), in which the iconic “Berlin Blue” was used for the first time.
KOWALSKI’s reinterpretation brings the wave into our time – with vivid Lascaux green tones and a clear reference to the present: the movement “The Last Generation” symbolizes the activist spirit of today. Dragonflies – known in Japan as “katsumushi” or “victory insect” – embody courage and forward momentum.
